Allegro! String Camp is a program presented by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra for string students ages 8-18 in the Roanoke Valley. This day camp will take place July 5 -10, at Hollins University, from 9 am – 4:30 pm. Students will receive a camp T-shirt, and one hot meal will be provided each day.

Students will be immersed in small ensemble coaching and playing, music literacy, and strings techniques classes throughout the week. Students of all ability levels are welcome to join, as students will be grouped with others at the same level.

This year, students will have the opportunity to perform solo or small ensemble repertoire at the Allegro! Student Recital on Friday, July 9th at 4:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to show your peers what you have been working on in your private lessons or with a group of your friends. Limited spaces are available, so please be sure to select the “Student Recital Sign-Up” option as you register for camp! Follow-up information will be collected from you via email regarding your repertoire choice, accompaniment needs, etc.
