Join us on Wednesday, November 18th, 2026 for the RSO’s Discovery Concert! Performances will be held at 10am & 12pm at the Jefferson Center (541 Luck Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016).
Discovery Concerts are educational, symphony orchestra concerts performed by the young artists of the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra. Discovery Concerts provide local students the opportunity to attend a live symphony performance in a concert hall setting. Discovery Concerts are crafted to align across the curriculum with Virginia Standards of Learning in Grades 3-5, but all grade levels are welcome! A detailed lesson guide is provided prior to the concert to assist teachers in the preparation and follow-up.
Pricing
Student tickets to the Discovery Concert are $10/person. Every 10 student tickets purchased, a complimentary chaperone ticket is given. If additional chaperone tickets would like to be purchased, they can be purchased at the $10 ticket price.
Payment can be made via check to the “Roanoke Symphony Orchestra”. Checks must be received in advance, by Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Virginia Willis, RSO Education Director, will work with you to pick up the check from your school on that date. Checks can also be mailed to the RSO office at 1125 1st St., Roanoke VA, 24016. Refunds for concert no-shows are not available, as we are reserving seats for the exact number of students requested.
