Star City Arts Festival
Celebrate Arts and Culture in the Star City
Thank you for a fantastic inaugural event in 2019! We can’t wait to see you in 2020!
Star City Arts Festival is an exciting new event to provide Roanoke with an Arts Extravaganza and promote the Arts in our area. This collaboration of the Arts and Culture community, presented in a one-day festival, has the opportunity and goal of becoming a new tradition that can multiply the awareness and participation in our organizations. Star City Arts Festival is the first of its kind in Roanoke, providing the community an opportunity to participate and share the performing, visual, culinary, literary and cultural arts together.
We had a fantastic event in 2019!
We enjoyed performances by Southwest Virginia Ballet and Roanoke Ballet Theatre, along with Mill Mountain Theater Conservatory, Roanoke Children’s Theater, The Grandin Theater, the Jefferson Center Music Lab, and with musical performances featuring an eclectic array of artists from Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Latin and more, Attendees loved the Roanoke Public Libraries book giveaway, The Taubman Museum of Art’s ArtVenture tent and the city’s top food, wine and beer trucks will be there too!
Experience the fun again!
Check out some photos from this year’s event.
The event pinnacle was the much-anticipated “Symphony Under the Stars” concert by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra at Elmwood Park Amphitheater. The Star City Arts Festival is designed to be a celebration of the community, FOR the community and is a free, public event.
