Your safety is our priority

Updated 3/16/20

The Covid-19 situation continues to be fluid as Governor Ralph Northam announced a ban on all gatherings of 100 people or more statewide amid a rise in coronavirus cases in Virginia.

“We ask people to use common sense,” said Governor Northam. “What we are trying to achieve here is the kind of social distancing that experts tell us is critical to stop the spread of the virus.”

The RSO is working with our concert venues, municipal leaders and health officials as this situation develops.

In light of this ever-changing situation, we will probably see more social distancing plans that include the closing of some services like open restaurants, carefree travel, and the neighborhood pub.  Times like this certainly call for grace and flexibility.

We are very committed to our season and serving you, our community, through music. So, instead of canceling our concerts, the RSO is working to re-schedule the March 29th Masterwork IV concert and the remaining Pops III, Masterworks V, and our final Destination concerts starting in June.  We realize everyone will feel better about attending concerts and enjoying the music together once we are all past this stressful time in our country.

We should be able to announce the re-scheduled dates very soon and appreciate your patience and support.  In the meantime, the RSO is announcing a new RSO Relax & Rejuvenate Spotify Series.  Starting today and each week we will curate and post some great music for you to enjoy.  It’s all free, just sign up for a complimentary Spotify account and you need only to click the link to get started.

Stay tuned for more information as we re-schedule and plan our concerts and look forward to the next time we see you at the concert hall.
